A parasite is a small animal that depends on other animals for food. A parasite lives on the body or inside the body.

External parasites live outside the body.

Internal parasites live inside the body. Examples of internal parasites are: roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms and liver fluke.

Dirty clothes and bodies attract parasites. We should practice good personal hygiene to avoid external parasites.
