Introduction

Business Studies in an area of study at Junior School that is offered as an integrated subject covering the following strands: Business and money management skills, business and its environment, government and global influence in business and financial records in business.

At Grade Eight, the learner is exposed to specific topics as compared to the general ones at Grade Seven. This will equip the learner with business competencies such as; critical thinking, problem solving and creativity. To this end, therefore, the learner is advised to carry out all the activities provided and as advised by the teacher. He or she is also advised to, as much as possible, use locally available resources in developing creativity and innovation. The locally available resources should also be used as learning materials where possible. The resources include natural, human and artificial resources. Working together with other people is very important as it makes one develop certain traits such as communication and collaboration skills.
