Safety rules during athletics
- Wear appropriate clothing and shoes during games.
- Run through the finish line. Do not dive or stumble across the finish line.
- If you run up behind a runner, shout ‘track’ so that they know and move to the outer lane and out of your way.
- On completion of the run, move out of the inside lanes.
- Report any injuries to your teacher.
- Drink water regularly when participating in games and sports.
- Warm up before running.

Jumba was playing football with his friends. Jumba knocked Kamau so that he could get hold of the ball.
“Jumba, did you knock Kamau?” the referee asked.
“Yes sir, I will not repeat it.”
The referee was pleased with Jumba’s honesty. He asked Jumba to apologise to Kamau and the game went on.
